2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, 69,000 Original Miles, Great Project or Restoration Candidate Up for sale is my 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport with only 69,000 original miles . This is an increasingly hard-to-find car, especially with such low mileage. I’ve put a lot of time and money into bringing it back to solid mechanical condition, but I’m ready to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it (or part it out if need be) Recent maintenance and repairs include: Rear drum brakes replaced New rotors and brake pads Head gaskets replaced in July 2025 Engine professionally resealed at the same time + timing belt Clean interior with everything functioning as it should except AC - condenser is in working condition and no leaks found yet, but have not gotten rediagnosed. Transmission pan replaced. No warning lights on the dashboard Condition: The car starts, runs, and drives , but it is being sold AS-IS because it needs a rear axle and rear wheel bearings replaced, as well as power steering pump. urgent and is not in immediate need for repair. These issues are related to rust, which is common on older Subarus. I’ve invested $9,000 toward what would likely be around $15,000 worth of restoration and maintenance to bring this car back to a good condition for its age. There’s still some work to be done, but the major engine work has already been completed, as is important with these as we all know. I’d genuinely love to see this car go to someone who appreciates these older Imprezas, which is why I’m not in a rush to sell and why it is priced as it is. They’re becoming harder to find every year, and I’d much rather see it restored and enjoyed than parted out. That said, once it’s sold, its future is up to the next owner. I am a professional driver for work (tour buses, etc) and would drive it to your location anywhere in the US for an added fee (I’d adjust the listing) if unable to pick it up yourself if the mechanic states it would be able to.
